HISTORIC THEATER: Whittier lawyers will ask a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to allow the city to demolish the damaged Depression-era Whittier Theater. If the judge rules in favor of the city, Whittier Conservancy members say they will appeal, possibly delaying the issue for another year. The hearing is scheduled this week in downtown Los Angeles.
