Ralph and Goldy Lewis, co-founders of Lewis Homes, Upland, have been named 1990 Los Angeles Housing Persons of the Year by the National Housing Conference and will be honored at a June 27 dinner at the Century Plaza Hotel.
The Washington, D.C.-based group, formed in 1931, is the oldest nonprofit bipartisan citizens’ organization working for decent housing in the nation.
The Lewises, who started their building firm in 1957, will be honored for their commitment, support and contributions to the housing industry. Eli Broad of Broad Inc./SunAmerica and John Lusk of the Lusk Co. are dinner co-chairman. Broad is a former Housing Person of the Year recipient.
