BROCCOLI: President Bush hates it. Barbara Bush, above, who welcomed a shipment to the White House Monday (A4), loves it and prefers the raw florets to Poppy’s (the President’s) penchant for pork rinds. . . . As a crop, broccoli has had a spotty career in Orange County and is being phased out by the Irvine Co., which began growing the stuff 15 years ago. . . . Bush, meanwhile, got some unexpected support Monday from some students at Costa Mesa’s Whittier Elementary School (B1).
