WORLD IN BRIEF : PHILIPPINES : 4 Americans Die in Crash of Light Plane

Four Americans died when a light plane from Clark Air Base crashed shortly after taking off from the mountain resort of Baguio, about 120 miles north of Manila, Philippine and U.S. authorities said. The Grumman Tiger crashed Sunday about 30 miles northeast of the resort, the opposite direction from the U.S. base. The Manila Rescue Coordinating Center identified the victims as Maj. Wayne Vodrow and Capt. George Kennedy and his wife, Chong, and daughter, Patricia. No hometowns were listed.
