The San Gabriel Region of United Way has set up a “mini-grant” program for agencies dealing with aging, homelessness, youth recovery and child care for residents of Bassett, Industry, Hacienda Heights, La Puente, Rowland Heights and Valinda.
An informational meeting for agencies will be held at 10 a.m. April 5 at Hillgrove Center, 1234 Valencia St., Hacienda Heights. The one-time mini-grants will be for up to $5,000. The application deadline for grant proposals is April 20. Applications should be mailed to United Way Inc., P.O. Box 58, Arcadia, 91066.
United Way organized its Underserved Geographic Area Committee, which is soliciting the grant proposals, after a study concluded that the southeastern portion of the San Gabriel Valley did not have enough community support services.
