Jon Mack, Loyola High’s track and field coach who also has coached at Alemany and Notre Dame, has been hired to coach football at St. Bonaventure in Ventura.
The St. Bonaventure job opened when Damian Wilkerson resigned at the end of the season.
Mack has compiled a 63-15-1 record in track since 1982 when he took over the Notre Dame job as a 20-year-old college student. Mack, 29, who also worked as an assistant football coach at Notre Dame, joined the Alemany staff in 1988 and served as track coach and a football assistant. He has filled the same posts since joining the Loyola staff last fall.
