Horse enthusiasts are invited to attend a dedication ceremony Saturday for the Arroyo Simi Equestrian Center in Simi Valley, city officials said.
The ceremony for the $742,527 center--which features a corral and equestrian arena with bleachers--will start at 10:30 a.m. at the nine-acre site off Royal Avenue, between Sycamore Drive and Sequoia Avenue.
“The dedication of the Arroyo Simi Equestrian Center is an important step in allowing the district to connect with an existing regional trails system,” said Rick Fields, chairman of the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District.
The center will be open to the public for free from 8 a.m. to dusk seven days a week, Johnson said. A Western-style barbecue, sponsored by the Rancho Simi Equestrians Inc., will be served at 11 a.m. after Saturday’s ceremony. The cost of the barbecue is $16.50 for adults and $14.50 for children.
