The commentary by Amy Wallace in The Times (“State Using Death Penalty Must Not Look Away,” April 8) on the execution of Timothy Wesley McCorquodale of Georgia in 1987 contained approximately 20 paragraphs in a half page describing his execution.
A short, 57-word paragraph described how McCorquadale executed 17-year-old Donna Marie Dixon, 13 years earlier.
The victims’ suffering is as relevant to the story as the execution of the murderer. So say 83% of Californians who support the death penalty.
