America West Airlines: The carrier reported a first-quarter 1990 loss of $2.6 million, contrasted with a profit of $10.1 million in the same period of last year. Revenue was $304 million, up 31% over 1989. The Phoenix-based airline said fuel expenses in the quarter were $9 million more than in first-quarter ‘89, but said it was “extremely pleased” with its traffic increases.
