Mattel Dresses Down Strippers: A couple who billed themselves as “Barbie” and “Malibu Ken” as they stripped to their bare essentials on Phil Donahue’s show are being sued by Mattel Inc. The lawsuit by Mattel, owner of the trademark Barbie and Ken dolls, claims that Michael and Saundra Cherwenka advertised and sold stripping services in flagrant violation of Mattel’s trademark rights. Cherwenka said that he and his wife were portraying characters but that fighting Mattel would be fruitless.
