Orange police on Thursday appealed for help with an unsolved, fatal hit-and-run accident in December.
Sgt. Bob Gustafson said investigators have been unable to track down the driver who slammed into 27-year-old Rosa Alvarez Calletano as she was walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of Tustin Street and Adams Avenue.
The vehicle that struck Calletano on Dec. 21 about 6:15 a.m. knocked her 70 feet from the crosswalk, Gustafson said. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police have no clues to the driver’s identity, he said.
“It’s a serious traffic accident that we are pursuing to the point where the person responsible will be brought to trial,” Gustafson said.
Gustafson urged anyone with information about the accident to contact Investigator Jim Pyne at (714) 532-0241 or (714) 532-0221.
