Brethren Christian Junior and Senior High School, which has been located on South Orange Avenue at Alondra Boulevard in Paramountfor more than 36 years, is leaving the city. The school is moving to Orange Avenue in Cypress.
The 480-student school is moving primarily for more space and to be closer to the students it serves, Supt. Dennis R. Brown said.
The school plans to be in its new location by Sept. 5 for the beginning of school next fall, Brown said.
Brethren will lease a 20-acre junior high school site closed in the early 1980s by the Anaheim Union High School District due to declining enrollment, Brown said.
The Paramount campus is on 8 acres of land and serves many students from the Orange County area. The old school site will be sold, administrators said.
