Three members of the Ventura County Fair Board of Directors have been reappointed to serve on the nine-member board, which makes policy for the annual fair and the ongoing activities at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
The appointments, effective through January, 1994, were made by Gov. George Deukmejian because the Ventura County Fairgrounds are operated by the 31st District Agricultural Assn., a state agency.
Six members whose terms have not expired remain in office.
Ventura residents Michael LeBeck, Dennis Orrock and Diane Starr will take on different duties in their new terms of office.
Board members, who are volunteers, rotate duties, LeBeck said.
Duties include coordinating the year-round activities on the 62-acre site in Ventura.
The fairgrounds operate on a $6-million annual budget, said Art Amelio, fairgrounds assistant manager. He said about $2.5 million is spent on the Ventura County Fair, which will be held Aug. 15-26.
