Sheriff’s deputies are investigating what appears to be the murder-suicide of a 67-year-old man and his 65-year-old ex-wife in the man’s mobile home in San Marcos.
Deputies Wednesday found the body of Ruth Estella Klauer on the living-room floor and that of Ernest Hall on the bed in the master bedroom. Hall had a revolver in his hand.
About 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were summoned to the mobile home in the 1900 block of San Marcos Boulevard by neighbors because a car was parked in the driveway, but lights in the home had been on for a few days.
Klauer lived in the 3600 block of Village Circle in Carlsbad.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Hall shot his ex-wife, then himself, sheriff’s deputies said.
