ANAHEIM : Motorcyclist Killed After He Hits Pickup

A motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet died Tuesday night after crashing into a pickup truck which was turning left, police said.
Manuel Aguayo Ponce, 21, of Anaheim was speeding southbound on East Street about 8:16 p.m. when he failed to notice that a northbound Mitsubishi pickup truck was turning left onto West Wilhelmina Street, Police Lt. Robert Welch said.
Ponce was thrown about 100 feet, Welch said, and landed on his head. He was dead on arrival at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
No citation was issued to the driver of the pickup.
