Irvine Hires Coaches for Basketball, Soccer

Cheryl Akers has been named girls’ basketball coach and Hamid Sedehi has been named girls’ soccer coach at Irvine High School.
Akers, 27, attended Southern California College, where she played basketball and volleyball. Akers, who replaced Greg Marchant, was an assistant at Estancia for the past three seasons.
Sedehi, 21, was a co-coach at Woodbridge this season and a former assistant at Irvine, where he played soccer. Sedehi replaces Darrell Williams.
