CHICAGO — United Airlines has expanded its operations to a company record of 1,945 daily flights, the carrier’s chairman said today, due largely to increases in international routes and flights serving Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.
United Chairman Stephen Wolf also said the expansion will continue through the remainder of the year.
At Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, United’s home base, domestic flights have increased from 384 flights per day last June to 408 this June and a projected 418 flights by August. United flies nonstop to 100 U.S. cities from Chicago.
At San Francisco, daily departures increased in the past year from 137 to 168, with nonstop service to 42 cities.
At Los Angeles, daily departures climbed from 82 to 102.
