Collins, Schwartz Finish One-Two in Main Event

Phil Collins of Newport Beach won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was second, Ronnie Correy of Fullerton third and Mike Faria of Riverside fourth.

Correy won the eight-lap handicap main event. Brad Oxley of San Clemente was second, Faria was third, Alan Christian of Murrieta was fourth and Andy Northrup of Ontario fifth.
