OCEANPORT, N.J. — Restless Con, an unheralded West Coast colt, won the $500,000 Grade I Haskell Invitational Handicap at Monmouth Park Saturday by 2 1/4 lengths.
Ridden by Tim Doocy and trained by Duane Offield, Restless Con paid $22.60, $7.80, and $4.80. Baron du Vaux finished second and Rhythm was third. Favored Profit Key finished out of the money in the 1 1/8-mile race.
Doocy made his move on the outside near the end of the backstretch, taking the lead from Secret Hello at the three-quarter pole and then pulling away in the stretch.
