MOSCOW — A Soviet passenger plane carrying 30 people from Armenia to the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh crashed into a mountain Wednesday, killing everyone aboard, a member of the Armenian Parliament said.
Karen Simonyan said that wreckage from the aircraft, a Yak-40, and several bodies were found in rugged territory near Agdam, a town just outside Nagorno-Karabakh in the republic of Azerbaijan.
The Armenian government and Soviet aviation officials declined to confirm that the aircraft had crashed, saying only that the plane was missing and that a search was continuing.
