One would think that a publishing house with the reputation of Simon & Schuster would have given some very serious consideration to the veracity of Antoni Gronowicz’s alleged “intimate relationship” with Greta Garbo before authorizing publication (“Garbo: Her Own Story”; July 15). Is it the appeal of the almighty dollar or simply satisfying the prurient interests of a public seemingly gone mad with desire to read “true stories” that makes a publisher decide to print or not to print?
