Iraqi Forces Overrun Tiny Kuwait
In 1980 when Hussein invaded Iran we all gloated. Kuwait and Saudi Arabia were the two countries which bank rolled this war of aggression. After Ronald Reagan, Oliver North and company got caught in the Iran-Contra fiasco, United States joined the Soviet Union and France in assisting Iraq in its hegemonic aspirations.
Eventually, thanks to the use of chemical warfare and the unlimited financial resources of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, Hussein was able to extricate himself from his ill-begotten war as a victor with the most powerful armed forces in the region.
Now the Kuwaitis are surprised at the way the maniacal Hussein is paying them back for their generosity. Obviously, the rulers of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia forgot the old Arab proverb which says if you bed with a scorpion you are liable to get stung.
