Rookie Troy Beebe was injured in a three-car crash during practice for a NASCAR stock car race at Watkins Glen, N.Y.
Beebe, of Modesto, had a concussion and was flown to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., where he was in serious but stable condition in the intensive care unit.
Dick Trickle, the 1989 rookie of the year, was released from Corning (N.Y.) Hospital after X-rays of his right leg and ankle were negative. Mark Martin escaped with a welt on his forehead and a bruised knee.
