52-Week T-Bill Interest Rates Rise: The Treasury Department reported that the average discount rate was 7.40%, up from 7.34% at the last auction July 26. It was the highest rate since 52-week bills averaged 7.52% on June 28. The bills will carry an equivalent coupon interest rate of 7.95%, with each $10,000 in face value selling for $9,251.80. Sales totaled $10.52 billion out of bids of $24.48 billion.
