During the first six months of the year, the most recent period for which information is available, just 29% of all the housing permits issued in the county were for single-family homes. That’s the lowest percentage for six-month periods in any of the last five years and another indication of how future construction of such dwellings will, if the trend continues, tail off precipitously. Here’s a five-year comparison:1986: 34%
 36%
 51%
 47
 29
