CYPRESS — Police are searching for four armed men who reportedly robbed a Radio Shack store Saturday afternoon of an undetermined amount of cash and four videocassette recorders.
Three suspects entered the store at 5496 Lincoln Ave. and forced a clerk and the manager to open the cash register and remove the VCRs from a shelf, Cypress police said.
One of the men fired a round into the air as they ran with their loot toward a green, rusting Chevrolet Impala parked in a nearby residential area and driven by a fourth suspect, according to police.
Three of the robbers were armed with handguns, and one apparently carried an Uzi semiautomatic weapon, police said.
The robbers were described as black men in their 20s, all wearing white gloves, blue plaid shirts and possibly black pants, said police, who have no suspects.
The Impala, an early-1970s model, had no license plates, and a second car, a yellow or beige Gran Torino, may also have been involved, police said.
