Wells Fargo to Ban Smoking: The San Francisco-based bank launched a three-phase program to eliminate smoking from all of its buildings and branches in California. Starting immediately, cigarette vending machines will be removed. In November, smoking will be permitted only in designated smoking rooms and lounges. By April 1, 1991, smoking will be prohibited. The program is the result of an employee task force.
