Stray Bullet Kills Woman Inside Pickup

A stray bullet apparently intended for a gang member shattered the back window of a pickup truck and killed a woman inside as she waited for a ride home, authorities said Tuesday.
The truck owner’s 5-year-old son was cut by fragments from the shattered rear window in the attack in the 2400 block of Ellendale Place in South-Central Los Angeles on Monday night, Detective Paul Mize said.
Norma Cifuentes, 34, was sitting in the pickup as the driver warmed up the vehicle, Mize said. A gunman ran into the street and fired at a passing car, missing his target but hitting Cifuentes, police said.
