Long Beach City College officials said late Wednesday that Oxnard College Coach Lindsay Meggs has been hired as the school’s baseball coach, filling a vacancy created when Ken Gaylord resigned earlier in the day.
Meggs, who was an assistant at Cal Lutheran in 1989, led the Condors to a 14-22 record last season, his first at Oxnard. Oxnard finished 10th among 11 teams in the Western State Conference.
Gaylord, who coached at Long Beach City College for six seasons, accepted a similar position at Cerritos College. Oxnard officials were unavailable for comment regarding a replacement for Meggs.
