On Board the Peace Train: Yusuf Islam, known in the ‘70s as pop singer Cat Stevens, went to Baghdad this week with a “peace delegation” of British Muslim leaders. Islam and a delegation of five others are hoping to persuade Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to find a peaceful solution to the Gulf crisis. Islam, who changed his name when he adopted the Muslim faith in 1979, described the Iraqi president as a “congenial fellow and brother Muslim.”
