Loara Keeps Canyon Winless, 21-7

ANAHEIM — Senior quarterback Charles Gipson threw two touchdown passes to lead Loara to a 21-7 victory over Canyon Friday in a nonleague football game before 1,300 at Glover Stadium.
Gipson completed a six-yard touchdown pass to senior fullback David Kang with 5:44 left in the first quarter to give Loara a 6-0 lead. Loara had gotten the ball at the Canyon 27 after a 21-yard punt.
Luigi Gagow scored on a nine-yard run with about four minutes left in the first half to give Loara (2-1) a 13-0 lead. Gagow was Loara’s leading rusher with 79 yards in 18 carries.
Loara took advantage of an interception to score its final touchdown. Dan Bokelman intercepted a Canyon pass at the Comanche 16. Three plays later, Gipson connected with Kang for a three-yard touchdown pass with 3:59 left in the third quarter. Gipson was four of nine for 24 yards.
