Alhambra : Raise for Police Officers

The City Council agreed Monday to give police officers a 5% raise retroactive to July 5, and another 5% pay hike beginning July, 1991.

The two-year agreement also requires the city to complete a study of the officers’ retirement plan by Dec. 1. If the city and the Alhambra Police Officers Assn. then agree to upgrade the plan, the city will pay 2.5% to the retirement system.

In addition, the city has agreed to pay a bonus of up to $100 a month to bilingual officers who regularly use a second language in their duties, and to pay $150 a month to officers on special assignment, such as those assigned to the Detective Division or canine duty.
