Santa Ana’s Chavez Will Fight Solorio at Marriott Tonight

Ernie Chavez of Santa Ana seeks his fourth main event victory of the year in tonight’s monthly boxing program at the Irvine Marriott.
Chavez (11-0) will fight Mario Solorio (12-2) of Oxnard in a welterweight bout. Chavez has defeated Javier Moreno, Juan Villa and Hedgemon Robertson in main events this year.
Shane Kaplan, a former kick boxer from Irvine, is featured in a preliminary bout. Kaplan, a middleweight, has two knockouts in two appearances at the Marriott.
The first of six bouts is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets go on sale at the hotel starting at 10 a.m.
