Santa Monica : Permit Parking Zone OKd
The City Council Tuesday night introduced an ordinance establishing a preferential parking zone in the area surrounding the Santa Monica Hospital and Medical Center.
Non-residential parking will be restricted to two hours between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
The parking zone is bounded by 14th Street, Wilshire Boulevard, 20th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard.
The ordinance is a compromise between residents, who wanted no parking for non-residents, and the nearby churches and businesses that did not want any restrictions.
