A 44-year-old man was being held on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of his wife, who was found beaten to death in their North Hollywood home Monday afternoon, Los Angeles Police said.
Urszula Obreczarek, 34, was found dead in her home in the 7300 block of Kraft Avenue shortly before noon Monday, said, Lt. Ron LaRue.
“It appears to be a domestic type dispute,” LaRue said.
Obreczarek had been badly beaten and died of blunt-force injuries, police said.
Shortly after police discovered the body, the victim’s husband, Ryszard Obreczarek, turned himself in at the Los Angeles County Central Jail on Bauchet Street in Los Angeles.
Police did not know the motive of the crime and had not found the murder weapon, LaRue said.
The couple had been married 11 years and had three sons, ages 4, 7 and 8. The 4-year-old was in the house at the time of the killing, but police do not know if he witnessed it.
