YORBA LINDA : Trash Collection Rates to Increase

The City Council has unanimously approved a disposal company’s request to raise its trash collection and disposal rates for homes and businesses next year.
The new rates, which take effect Jan. 1, will raise the cost of residential collection from $9.07 a month to $9.80 a month, and commercial rates from $58.80 a month to $68.01 a month.
City officials said that the increase, approved Tuesday, complies with a franchise agreement with Yorba Linda Disposal Inc. that allows the company to make annual cost-of-living increases.
Last year, the company did not make a cost-of-living adjustment, so the city agreed to a raise the rates to reflect the past two years.
