Azusa : City Administrator Leaving

Fred Diaz, interim city administrator, will leave his post next week to take a permanent position as city manager in Indio.
During a closed session at Monday’s City Council meeting, the council told Diaz to ask former city administrators whether they would be willing to step in while the city looks for a permanent replacement, Diaz said.
Diaz, who began his career with Azusa as assistant city administrator, was appointed interim administrator when Julio Fuentes left the city for Pomona in December, 1989.
“There are several people here who I’ll really miss,” said Diaz, 32. “But (Indio city officials) made me an offer I couldn’t resist.”
