Covina : Speed Limits to Be Increased
Speed limits on Vincent and Lark Ellen avenues will be increased because a traffic survey revealed that 85% of motorists exceed the posted speed.
Based on a recommendation by Covina’s public works division, the City Council voted 5 to 0 to increase the speed limits from 35 m.p.h. to 40 m.p.h. on Vincent between Edna Place and Badillo Street and on Lark Ellen between Edna Place and Grovecenter Street.
But the council denied the department’s request to increase the speed limit on Hollenbeck Avenue, because of residential driveways and a nearby park and school. It will remain at 35 m.p.h.
