LAGUNA BEACH : Trustee Resigns Water Board Seat

John A. Rayment, an appointed South Coast Water District trustee who was running for a board seat in the November election, submitted his resignation this week because he is moving out of the district.
Rayment’s name will appear on the ballot, but he will not be able to serve if elected, said Linda Jones, the district’s assistant general manager.
Rayment, who was appointed to the board in January, 1989, to fill the unexpired term of Ingrid McGuire, will move from Monarch Bay Terrace to Laguna Niguel on Nov. 1, Jones said. His home in the Pacific Island Drive area of Laguna Niguel is in the Moulton Niguel Water District, Jones said.
Rayment’s resignation leaves three candidates in the running for three seats on the seven-member board. Two of the candidates, Norm Anderson and Jacqueline Ludlum, are incumbents seeking reelection.
The third candidate is Susan Hinman, an administrative assistant to 5th District Supervisor Thomas F. Riley.
