Hawaii Snaps CSUN Win Streak in Volleyball

Cal State Northridge was no match for third-ranked Hawaii in a college volleyball match late Thursday in Oahu.
The Rainbows snapped CSUN’s nine-match win streak with a 15-1, 15-4, 15-8 victory. Malin Fransson and Karrie Trieschman each had 14 kills for Hawaii (16-2), which benefited from seven service aces.
The kill leaders for Northridge (18-6) were twins Marianne and Kathleen Dixon with eight and seven, respectively. Nancy Nicholls also had seven.
The teams met again late Friday night but results were unavailable at press time.
Meanwhile, the CSUN soccer team will put its four-match win streak on the line this afternoon at 3 at Sacramento State. The Matadors are 7-5-3 in their first season at the Division I level.
Sacramento State is 4-10.
