SANTA ANA — A man described as in his mid-20s was found shot to death Friday night and dumped in an alley near the 1000 block of West Walnut Street.
The victim, not yet identified by police Saturday, had been shot once in the chest and was lying face-down in the alley.
Police said an unidentified vehicle was seen leaving the area only seconds before the body was found in the residential area. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and was not taken to a hospital. No weapon was recovered.
“Right now, we have no motive, nothing,” Santa Ana Police Cpl. Charles Jarusek said. He said a police check of the dead man’s fingerprints did not reveal any record of criminal activity.
Jarusek said the coroner’s office was trying to use the fingerprints to determine the man’s identity.
