Incumbent Mayor Charles V. Smith has passed the $20,000 mark in campaign contributions, giving him $6,000 more than the two other mayoral candidates combined, mandatory political finance reports show.
Smith leads the pack with $20,532 in contributions. He has spent $17,543--about three times as much as rival Frank G. Fry--and has $1,961 remaining on hand. Fry has received $10,649 in contributions and has $7,327 on hand. Mayoral candidate Darryl DeGraw has received $3,448 in contributions, spent $2,440 and has $1,008 remaining, the reports show.
Meanwhile, City Council incumbent Anita Huseth has also pulled ahead in contributions received. After trailing council candidate Craig Schweisinger in September, she has raised $12,165; he has raised $8,536 in that period. Schweisinger has used up almost all of his contributions and has $170 on hand. And after spending $8,529, Huseth has $4,468 remaining. She has also received a new $4,000 loan from her husband, the documents show.
