The Lakers waived rookie guard Keith Smith today, trimming their roster to 13 players.
Smith, the all-time assist leader at Cal, played in three exhibition games for the Lakers, averaging 2.7 points, 2.0 steals and 1.7 assists per game. He made four of his six field-goal attempts in 19 minutes.
