Master’s Seeded No. 1 in District Soccer Playoffs

The Master’s College men’s soccer team has been seeded No. 1 in the NAIA District 3 playoffs, which will start Saturday.
The Mustangs (7-10-3, 5-1-1 in district play), runners-up in last year’s playoffs, are seeded first in the six-team tournament ahead of defending champion Westmont, Biola, Cal Lutheran, Cal Baptist and Azusa Pacific.
Biola will play host to Azusa Pacific and Cal Lutheran will play host to Cal Baptist on Saturday. Master’s will play host to the lowest remaining seeded team Tuesday; Westmont will play host to the other second-round match.
Mike Kildal, the men’s and women’s cross-country coach at Master’s, will resign after the season, the school announced Wednesday.
Kildal has posted a combined dual-meet record of 94-51 since 1984.
Tryouts for the West Coast Sideout Girls’ Volleyball program will be held Saturday and Nov. 11 at Calabasas High. Players aged 14 and under will try out from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., players 16 and under will try out from 4-6 p.m., and those 18 and under will try out from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
