SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : Free Bus Ride Will Tour City Land Buys

A tour bus will leave City Hall at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for a free public tour of open spaces that have been targeted for purchase by the city.
City officials will accompany the riders on the 46-passenger bus to view the properties, including orange groves in the northwest areas of town and the Kinoshita farm just off Del Obispo Street. The tour will also include a hilltop view of the city from the ridgelines near Laguna Niguel.
City voters approved the purchase of these properties with the passage of a $21-million general obligation bond in April. This week, the council voted to buy the 56-acre Kinoshita farm for $9.5 million.
