The Ventura County district attorney’s office plans to file misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charges against a Simi Valley woman accused of killing a moped rider in a traffic accident in September, Deputy Dist. Atty. Dee Corona said Friday.
Corona said Jodi Maas, 25, could face up to one year in prison if convicted in the death of Michelle Glassman, 19.
Glassman was stopped on her moped as she waited to make a turn off Royal Avenue in Simi Valley Sept. 18 when she was struck from behind by Maas’ car, Corona said. Maas was not charged at the time.
Maas will be arraigned on the vehicular manslaughter charge this month in Ventura County Municipal Court, Corona said.
