Maurice Stepter caught two second-quarter touchdown passes from Deon Edwards and Reseda High held on to defeat San Fernando, 17-15, Friday night in a North Valley League game at Reseda.
San Fernando (4-4, 2-3) missed a chance to tie the score, 14-14, when Jose Servin missed a third-quarter conversion after Leonice Brown’s 52-yard touchdown run.
Reseda (4-3, 2-3) increased its lead to 17-13 on Gerald Cohl’s 37-yard field goal with 4:54 left.
The Tigers appeared to take the lead with 3:04 left when Brown scored from eight yards, but the play was nullified because of a clipping penalty. The drive ended when Cruz Trevino’s fourth-down pass into the end zone was broken up by Johann Reece.
