SOUTHERN SECTION ROUNDUP : Hueneme Shocks Santa Barbara to End 20-Game Losing Streak

David Andrade threw three touchdown passes and ran for another to lead Hueneme High to a stunning 28-25 upset of Santa Barbara on Friday night as the host Vikings snapped a 20-game losing streak.
The loss knocked defending Channel League champion Santa Barbara out of the race for the league title. Hueneme is 1-8, 1-5 in league play; Santa Barbara is 5-3-1, 3-2-1.
Andrade, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound sophomore, completed 19 of 31 passes for 211 yards. He threw two scoring passes to Chris Zapata, one to Dave Simerly and he also scored on a one-yard run. Zapata had 10 receptions for 137 yards.
Hueneme forged a 14-10 halftime lead but fell behind, 17-14, in the third quarter after Santa Barbara quarterback Dustin Spencer scored on a five-yard run. The Vikings responded, however, with a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to take a 28-17 lead.
Six plays into the final period, Andrade passed 11 yards to Simerly for a touchdown to complete a 62-yard drive for a 21-17 lead. Hueneme also marched 66 yards in six plays, capped by a 27-yard pass from Andrade to Zapata with 3 minutes 28 seconds left.
Santa Barbara then drove 60 yards in six plays, scoring on a two-yard dash by running back Ray Walker with 2:05 left. After a two-point conversion, Hueneme recovered an onside kick and ran out to clock to clinch the win.
