El Segundo 21, Bell-Jeff 0--El Segundo (5-3-1, 2-2) held Bell-Jeff to 37 rushing yards and allowed the Guards to reach Eagle territory only once in a San Fernando Valley League game at Burroughs High.
El Segundo reached the end zone on a 17-yard run by Don Smith and a 53-yard run by Chris Fenney that gave the Eagles a 14-0 halftime lead. For Bell-Jeff (1-8, 1-2), Anthony Pawluc completed 14 of 28 passes for 120 yards and suffered two interceptions.
