ROUNDUP : Cal Lutheran Pulls Out First-Round Soccer Win, 2-1

Cal Lutheran overcame a 1-0 deficit by scoring twice in the second half to defeat Cal Baptist, 2-1, in its first-round NAIA District 3 soccer playoff match at Cal Lutheran on Saturday.
The Kingsmen improved to 14-3-3, while Cal Baptist finished at 9-10-1.
Larry Gidley tied the score, 1-1, with his goal 24 minutes into the second half and teammate Dave Rinehart followed with the winning goal.
Susano Marquez scored Cal Baptist’s only goal.

L. A. Baptist 32, Marshall Fundamental 14--L. A. Baptist quarterback Dane Brown passed for 114 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 106 yards and two more scores in an Alpha League game at Marshall Fundamental.
The Knights (1-8, 1-3 in league play) scored on their first possession when Mike Degl’Innocenti capped an 82-yard drive with a two-yard run. With less than a minute left in the first half, L. A. Baptist made it 24-0 when Brown completed a 62-yard scoring pass to Eric Coyle.
Degl’Innocenti, who rushed for 72 yards, also had two quarterback sacks and forced a safety.
